I have been using Cakes by Mayra since I moved to South Florida 2 years ago. I knew that I wanted her to make my wedding cake. My husband and I scheduled a tasting where we sampled all her fillings, which were all excellent. We ended up choosing a 4 layer cake, 2 layers of strawberry with fresh strawberries and 2 layers of guava with custard. All the guests raved about how delicious the cake was and it was also beautifully decorated. It was so good I decided to use her for another big event coming up…my baby shower! We decided to use the same fillings (mexican vanilla and guava) and the cake was even more delicious. The shower was on a beach and the cake looked great with a white background and small sun and stars. It was very festive. I highly recommend Mayra and Cakes by Mayra. You will not be disappointed!

I hired Ms. Estrada to design a cake for my wedding. Being from the Bay Area I hadn’t had the opportunity to meet with her or taste anything edible prior to the event. So I let my fiancee who lived in Bogota, Colombia try her various samples. To our surprise she had some delicious and very original dulce de leche samples. After deciding on the filling and type of cake, I placed the order with her and sent her the contract and the picture of the cake I wanted, which was a combination of two different designs. The cake was delivered to the venue on time and as promised. It was a beautiful cake, which combined both designs I had requested, with white chocolate drip and dark chocolate shavings. It was so delicious that I hired her again to make another cake for my daughters second birthday party. The cake was even more delicious this time.

I had a very specific wedding cake in mind, but what my fiancé and I didn’t know was that our venue, The Bradford Estate, had partnered with Mayra. My dream cake came true in so many ways (I even got to taste a layer the night of the wedding)! Mayra made my 5 tier wedding cake come true, and she was very patient with me while I figured out exactly what I wanted. The tasting was very generous, and I loved that she made 4 of the same flavors I wanted to try, but with a few different fillings. That way we were able to mix and match and get exactly what we wanted. The cake was delicious, and the best part was…it was AGEM, 80 pieces! I was hoping for at least 60, and ended up with so much more!
Now, the best part…the wedding venue does not serve cake, only cookies. We wanted favors, but the cookies were very small, and quite pricey. I contacted Mayra, and she sent me link after link of cookies, but with a little design work, and the addition of ribbon, our cookies were anything but ordinary. They were not only beautiful, but delicious! We served them at the rehearsal dinner, and they were such a hit that we actually ended up with extras! All our guests were raving, and what better than that! Thank you so much, Mayra, for making my wedding cake come true!

When we first laid eyes on our wedding cake, we were completely blown away! The cake was absolutely stunning, way more beautiful than we had imagined. They worked very closely with us, and made sure they created the perfect cake to match our design and theme. We had three different flavors, two of which are completely new flavors to the market, and they were all absolutely delicious. The cake itself is very moist, and the flavors are very rich, and not too sweet, which is what we were looking for.

Since we had a cake for two, and our wedding was going to be very hot, they worked with us and made the inside of the cake a different flavor, and an iced version of the other flavor. This was absolutely genius, because we got to have our cake both flavors, and iced, and hot, and amazing!

Esther, the owner and cake guru, was very easy to work with, and very patient. She spent a lot of time explaining to us how the cake was going to be constructed, and was very open to everything we came up with. She was also very responsive, and worked hard to work around our schedule (we are from Texas, and got married in Santa Barbara).

We also want to give a shout out to Christine, who helped us with the tasting, and was very helpful and friendly.

In short, we had the perfect cake made, by the best people, that tastes like heaven and melts in your mouth.
