I ordered a cake from this bakery for my wife’s wedding. I’m a HUGE SF sports fan, so I asked them to make a cake of the football team’s mascot eating a banana. They did a great job with it, and even made the SF shield look like a cheesecake. When I saw it, I knew they had to make our wedding cake. It was a 3-layer cake with the flavors of spiced pecan cream and pumpkin pie. Perfect for a fall wedding. The whole process of ordering the cake and communicating with them via email was very easy, and the price was very reasonable. On top of all of that, the cake was delicious. We got to take slices home, and even got to eat some of the cake on our honeymoon. We had a cake tasting with our venue, where we sampled a couple of flavors, along with a couple of fillings and a buttercream. We ended up choosing three flavors for the different layers (I think a different fruit on every layer): strawberries and cream (with a swirl of bavarian cream in between), cheesecake with strawberry and bavarian cream, and lemon with raspberry. The fruit was fresh and the cake was moist and light. We added some sugar flowers and that was it! The day of, our cake was delivered on time and it looked even better than we imagined. We were so excited to bring home leftovers to eat for the next few days! Unfortunately, no one wanted just the cake anymore… we were the only ones! We loved our wedding cake from Spoonful of Sugar.

I was fortunate enough to win a cake from A Spoonful of Sugar for a friend of mine’s wedding and it was delicious!! I was so excited when I found out that she was doing a cake tasting for wedding… lucky me, I was one of the people she chose to do that with. She let us choose as many kinds of cake, filling and frosting as we wanted. We ended up choosing 4 different kinds of cake… my goodness it was good. The top tier was red velvet with cream cheese, the middle tier was chocolate with espresso chocolate mouse, the bottom tier was vanilla with hazelnut and the filling in all of them was salted caramel. We also had a lemon cake with raspberry jam and lemon butter cream frosting, a red velvet cake with cream cheese icing and a vanilla with raspberry puree and strawberry butter cream frosting. We were so excited about the flavors we picked that we decided we couldn’t just have one filling for all of them, so we alternated the fillings between tiers. My friend that had the cake also ordered a custom groom’s cake… she found a photo of a robot that was special to my husband and made it as a cake. It was so amazing!! I’ve never had a wedding cake that was so amazing and so beautiful. The flavors were incredible and the designs were spot on. I absolutely recommend this business to anyone doing a wedding!!
