We found out about the Cakes by Bon Appetite through our wedding venue. They work directly with the venue and we really didn’t have a choice of baker because we used a venue-specific package; however, from the moment we met Crystal we knew we wanted to work with her! She was so easy to talk with, she gave us a huge box of cake samples (enough for both sets of parents!) and her cake designs were just so beautiful. After trying a few combinations, we ended up choosing all of the following: French vanilla cake with salted caramel buttercream filling, red velvet cake with cheesecake buttercream filling, chocolate cake with peanut butter buttercream filling, and red velvet cake with almond buttercream filling. Her cakes are so moist and just the perfect sweetness, and her fillings are out of this world! We even decided to splurge on a second dummy layer (to feed our families) and a small grooms cake, all of which turned out great. We knew we made the right choice after our cake tasting, but we were still shocked at how affordable the cakes turned out to be! Crystal made all of the decorations (including the adorable ‘h’ out of rice paper) and they turned out just like the pictures we sent her. Just the best.

Not only did our cakes look great, they tasted amazing too! Our venue cut up leftover cake for our families the next day, and even said that the cake was so good that they ate it all (no small feat, as they are a very healthy and eco-conscious family). We’ve received nothing but compliments and praise for our choice of baker, and we can’t wait to eat our cake again on our one-year anniversary!

What is there to say about my wedding cake vendor who also is my wedding bakery?

It is a wonderful experience to work with Ashley for two reasons. One, she is a creative baker who is fun to bounce ideas off of and two, she is an amazing listener. She is an artist who can take your idea and sketch it on paper and then make it a reality.

The first cake I worked with her on was my engagement cake and the second was my wedding cake. She listened to my ideas and offered her own to create a vision of exactly what I wanted. Then she translated that dream into a reality and I could not have been happier.

Bon-Bon Bakery is more than just your average bakery. It is your sweet escape. Stop in for a cup of coffee and some sweet treats and meet the artists behind the scenes. You will be impressed! Or better yet, have them make your wedding cake. They are delicious!
