We used the Cakes and Beyond catalog for our main wedding cake as it was very easy to use. We then used the Internet to pick out additional flavors of cupcakes. Everything was excellent! The flavors of the cake were very good and the cupcakes were very popular with the guests. We had three different cupcakes. The guests were able to try all of them. We had one small snag with the company. The wedding was on July 4th and we had ordered a main wedding cake with a very special design. We had sent the company a picture in color for the main wedding cake. We never received the picture and when we contacted them, they said they had sent it. However, we never received it. It was very hard to see the design that we had picked with the color and we were having trouble getting the design that we wanted from the picture. I would definitely recommend them and we will be using them again for an anniversary cake, hopefully with the design we wanted for our main wedding cake.

WOW!! I could not be happier with my cake from Cakes and Beyond! I was a little nervous at first, because I was planning my wedding from out of state, but I couldn’t believe how easy it was to work with Amy & Dan. They were so helpful and took the time to answer all of my questions. When I saw my cake for the first time, I couldn’t believe how amazing it turned out! I am still receiving compliments on it, even from people who were not sweets lovers. Also, their prices were unbeatable. I looked at cakes from several other vendors and they were more expensive without being fresh or custom. Cakes and Beyond baked my cake a few days ago & delivered it to my house so that I could freeze the top layer for our 1 year anniversary. I can’t wait to eat it again!

We got our wedding cake from Cakes and Beyond. It was a small cake for just the two of us, but it looked and tasted like something you would get at a fancy restaurant.

We did a tasting at their store in Burr Ridge and got to taste a lot of different cake flavors and different fillings and frostings. We decided to go with a red velvet cake, with cream cheese filling, and two different frostings. One of the things we really like about this vendor is that they will make you a new top tier for free for your 1 year anniversary! So no need to freeze the top tier and wait a year. And they will make you a new small cake for your anniversary! So you can taste test as many flavors you want.

We also like that they give you a gift certificate for free to go back to their store and pick out new cupcake flavors to take home with you.

The only reason I can think of that their cake is so good is that they don’t have to work very hard to make good cake. They already have a good recipe so they don’t have to experiment as much and maybe they can use more interesting flavors. But they still make great cake. It just happens to start out already good.

I do not work or live in Chicago, but I would still recommend them.
