This vendor was one that I had my heart set on until we did our taste testing. I am so glad we did because now we can’t imagine not having them as our bakery. They are very helpful in answering your questions about cake sizes and decorations. Sometimes they are slow at responding to your questions, but they always make you feel like you’re number one. They let us pick and choose the flavors for both layers of the cake, and were very helpful in giving us ideas on what flavors go well together. When you do your tasting, they give you plenty to eat and even let you take the leftovers home. We were so happy to be able to continue our tasting with our parents once we got back from our honeymoon! We did a mix of cupcakes and a small round cake. We had four flavors of cupcakes and one flavor for the cake. We were very pleased with how everything tasted! We did buttercream frosting on the cupcakes and whipped cream and fresh strawberries in the cupcake filling. The cake was amaretto with a thin layer of raspberry jam and whip cream filling. It was very good! We had a simple decoration of ribbon and fresh flowers. The price was also great! We had plenty of cake to serve all of our guests without being too much for the size of our wedding.

I had never heard of the Black Forest Baking Company before my wedding coordinator mentioned them as a possible vendor. I decided to check them out and WOW, am I glad I did! The owners, Wolfgang and Jutta, are so friendly, knowledgable, and delicious is their baking. They met with me and my husband at their bakery in St. Charles, explained all of their different options, and whipped up a yummy buttercream frosting for our cupcakes. We had 250 guests at our wedding, and chose the different flavors that we wanted for our cupcakes. We also chose a different flavor for our top cake (we had 3 tiers, all different flavors). We were so impressed with their cakes, we had them make our grooms cake as well. They did an amazing job, and were a joy to work with! We absolutely loved our cakes, and have had them several times since our wedding! I highly recommend the Black Forest Baking Company, and will continue to check their booth at every bridal show because they have the best cakes in town!
