As a destination wedding vendor, we regularly work with local vendors who work with us. So when we chose a baker for our wedding cake, it was a true pleasure working with Michael. As a person, Michael is a joy to work with. He is creative, knowledgeable and professional. We had a destination wedding on Cape Cod and I was able to communicate with him via email. He made us a sample croissant shaped cake on the beach with coffee and donuts! It was a fun experiment and it was delicious! For the wedding, Michael made a traditional 4 tier croissant shaped cake with a seagrass/spray paint design. He also provided a beautiful cake stand. The cake was delicious and it was a pleasure to work with Michael. I am looking forward to using his skills again for an anniversary cake!

After being “terrible” at booking several other bakeries for our wedding cake, I was so relieved and thrilled when we finally met with Nancy at Cake and Co… Nancy was such a wonderful and calming influence during our tasting. She was very patient and kind…not to mention, very realistic with flavors! We had tried many a flavor that was “too good to be true” only to find out they weren’t quite truthful. Not Nancy! Our flavor selection was: lemon with raspberry jam, maple with vanilla buttercream, and (our favorite) graham cracker with chocolate and peanut butter! YUM.

She created a beautiful 3-tiered cake with our graham cracker/chocolate flavor and our maple with vanilla buttercream flavor, as well as a small banana cake with coconut (this was for our tropical Kenyan wedding) and vanilla buttercream flavor! It was absolutely to die for! She was also so flexible and understanding when we found out just a month before the wedding, my parents would be arriving from MA for the wedding weekend, so could not fly out to Maine to pick up the cake. She was so understanding and helped us pick a time when my parents would be home so we could deliver it to them…and they were thrilled with the cake!

In short, we loved our cake and were so happy with every step of the way from tasting, to planning, to creating, to enjoying!! I cannot wait to eat the top tier on our first anniversary! :-)
