We used to live in Upper Marlboro and have enjoyed Sweeties for years, so it was a no-brainer to use them for our wedding cake this past September. We had a small two-tier “sweetheart” cake that was white with blue accents. It was very simple, but beautiful. We chose yellow cake with lemon and raspberry mousse. YUM! We also ordered a groom’s cake. We didn’t really have a vision for the cake other than wanting to incorporate the Orioles logo and a few yellow and blue sprinkles, so we called and found that they could paint the logo on the cake in metallic gold. It was amazing! We also chose a few different types of cupcakes so that our guests could choose a few different tastes. They were all delicious! Our guests raved about how delicious the cake and cupcakes were and also commented on how fast our order needed to be in the mail since it was a last minute order. I highly recommend Sweeties for any cake needs! I will definitely be stopping by to pick up some sweet treats soon!

The tasting was amazing and the personalized service was great. We ended up picking them to do our wedding cake and the groom’s cake. For the wedding cake, we did the vanilla cake with strawberry jam and for the groom’s cake, we did the vanilla cake with lemon curd. Both flavors were delicious! For the design, we just described to her what we wanted and it turned out really well. We did a square cake and just wanted the top half of the square to have a gold drip and the other half to be textured. The cake was really tasty and very moist, which is rare when doing a groom’s cake. The final product can be seen here: http://imgur.com/a/0YqLH. The pictures of the cake look a little outdated now, but the product still holds. They also provided us with a mini cake for us to eat in the honeymoon suite. This cake was just as amazing as the wedding cake and we ended up eating it for the whole week! In all, Alexandra’s Sweets and Co is a great bakery and we would recommend them to anyone!
