I had my wedding at the Colonial Hotel in Fitchburg, MA. They have an alliance with All That Events, a company that provides DJ’s and candy tables at weddings. I used to work for All That Events so I arranged a meeting with their promoters to come up with a design for the candy table. The Colonial Hotel promoter and I worked on the design of the candy table. I chose the candy and and colors. I also chose the DJ. I had a cocktail party at my venue, the Hunt Club, on October 15th, 2014 to choose the songs the DJ would play. The DJ, Rick, is a very nice man. I didn’t get to meet him until the day of the party. There were several people who were going to DJ my wedding. I chose him because he has lots of years of experience. He has tons of CDs with popular songs and he plays the songs the way the artists intended them to be played, not like a song that would be big on the radio. I had about 60 guests at my cocktail party and Rick played 13 songs for us. My husband and I each got to pick one song for Rick to play as our first dance. We also got to pick one of ten other songs he could play. I sent Rick a list of ten other songs I wanted played. He called me a couple days before the wedding to discuss the songs. I had chosen three songs that I wanted to be played twice. The first time, they were “played” once and then the second time they were played three times. I was very upset. I called Rick and told him I didn’t want those songs to be played a second time. He told me there was nothing he could do. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to cancel those songs or not. I decided to cancel them and he promised me he would play the songs how I wanted them played. On the day of the wedding, he played the songs the way I wanted them played. I was very happy. People were saying how they had never seen a candy table at a wedding. It looked great and was so organized and perfect. It was like something out of a magazine. The table was set with white boxes of candy. There were bags with the candy names on them. There were also my and my husband’s name stickers we could put on boxes of candy if we wanted. There was also a CD player at the table for people to play their own music. Rick came out after the first dance and played the first song I had chosen for my husband and then the second song I had chosen for me. The first dance and first song I chose for my husband was played twice and the second song I had chosen for me was played three times. I was very happy with how everything was played. I also had the option of having a photographer take pictures of the dance. I chose not to do that but I’m glad I did because the song was played twice and I really want that song to be played once, like I said. If you are having your wedding at the Colonial Hotel, you need to get your DJ through All That Events. They have made an alliance with the hotel and you don’t need to shop around for this important part of your wedding.
