It is hard to choose the favorite among our family who dined on the cake. So we will do a series of reviews starting with the very first reaction: the cannoli. We had arranged to have some people to watch our wedding and had a few days to kill between the ceremony and reception. There was a restaurant up the block from our apartment that was closing for a few days. I asked if they would do a take out cake order for us and our friends that would be on their way to the airport. The cannoli was the first thing that came out of the box. After the ribbon cutting ceremony, we went to the pastry shop for more ribbon cutting and to discuss the cake and the delivery. After the cake cutting, my new husband and I fed each other the cake. The cannoli was the second thing that came out of the box. We wanted a wedding cake with a few surprises and the cannoli was one of our favorite. We also wanted to add some New York flavor to the cake and the short rib stew was the third thing that came out of the box. After our first bite, we knew that the cake was exceptional but it did not stop there. We could not wait to cut the cake at the wedding and had our families over to taste it. The carrot cake cupcakes were the fourth thing that came out of the box and they were gone before we could taste them. The cannoli, the cupcakes and the carrot cake, our wedding cake, were all made by Kathleen and we cannot wait to have the experience again when we have our anniversary cake.
