I don’t even know there are restrictions on what you can say but AMY SUCH A GENIUS. We had a cake tasting a few months ago and she basically just gave us the run down on every cake she makes and then basically said “ok you can have all of them”.

We ended up with a naked vanilla cake with strawberries inside, lemon curd filling and vanilla buttercream. It was to die for. We had a few people at the wedding eat cake. Not just the ones at my table. They all raved. Then we had a strawberry cake with lemon curd filling and vanilla buttercream, also to die for. AND we had a chocolate cake with raspberry filling and chocolate ganache. I think I’m going to need this guide to weddings now. http://amy-cookies-inc.com/our-cakes.html I also recommend just going to the store and saying “i want to buy a strawberry cake” and then tasting them all. They are an absolutely amazing vendor.

I have a love-hate relationship with baking. On the one hand, it’s a pain in the neck cause A LOT of attention needs to be paid to the smallest details for any given dessert; on the other hand, it’s incredibly gratifying to see a dessert you’ve helped bring to the world take form before your very eyes. For my wedding, my bridely mother and I basted together our favorite cookie species (Oatmeal Raisin) and covered them in a chocolate ganache. We then took them to our local wedding venue and asked them to bake the cookies fresh (while we were spending all our time at the wedding venue), and ask the venue to deliver them to our venue. The result: our wedding cake was a dessert we would have been happy to have eaten for every meal in our entire wedding lives. The cookies were delicious, and the final result more than lived up to our expectations.

I can’t recommend Amy’s Cookies enough - their work is truly impeccable in every way imaginable.
