I am not a dessert person, but I absolutely loved everything about our wedding cake. First of all, it was beautiful! It was everything that we asked for. It was delicious. It was moist and rich. I am not talking about the cake from your average wedding. I am talking about a cake that will be remembered by all. Our wedding was in ithaca, and so were many of our guests. We wanted to give them something to remember us by. Many of them are dessert fans, and I am talking about the cake for weeks on end. It was a pleasure working with Alexis and the whole team at Zaharis. I am sure that any other venue would have charged twice as much, and the experience would not have been anywhere near as wonderful. Thank you for being part of our day and making it even more special with your amazing cake. It will be a long time before I eat cake again, but when I do, it will taste like yours.

I found myself in the unusual position this year of being my own wedding vendor, which is both a blessing and a curse. A blessing because I got to pick my vendors for my wedding based on their product, reputation and prices, a curse because now I had to deal with all of their vendors as well. The biggest blessing/curse situation was finding a cake vendor. I had been to cake tasting back in May and I was in love with Alexis. Her cakes are tasty, her prices are good and she is a kind woman. Unfortunately she only does cakes for wedding. I did not want to go the cupcake route. Well this was where the curse came in. I emailed her in July (FIVE MONTHS previous to the wedding) and informed her that I was still interested in doing business with her and asked for a second tasting, I received an email back acknowledging that I had requested a tasting and the date and location. The date was in November (after my wedding date was moved to October). Fast forward to August. I emailed her again to again inform her that I was still interested, this time she actually responded and I again asked for a tasting. The response was that she had another tasting lined up for that weekend, but she would be in contact with me afterward. I did not hear from her after this email. My wedding was now moved to September, I emailed her again and this time asked if she would please confirm that she still had an interest in doing business with me. My email was never answered. It was now September and my wedding was September 19th. I emailed her one last time to confirm that she indeed had an interest in doing business with me (to my knowledge this was the fourth time I had emailed her in this year) and this time she sent an email saying that she was sorry but she had another tasting lined up for that weekend and if I wanted to attend I would have to call her back the next week. I called her the following week and left a message on her phone. No call back. I emailed her again once more and this time she sent an email saying that she had indeed had enough information to confirm that she still had an interest in doing business with me and that if I wanted to learn more about her services that she had a link to her website that had more information. I never heard from her again. So now we are October. My wedding is now October 16th. I emailed her once more to confirm that she indeed had an interest in doing business with me (to my knowledge this was the fifth time I had emailed her in this year) and this time she sent an email that she had a lot going on and if I wanted to learn more about her services that she had a link to her website that had more information. I never heard from her again. So now we are November. My wedding is now November 11th. I emailed her once more to confirm that she indeed had an interest in doing business with me (to my knowledge this was the sixth time I had emailed her in this year) and this time she sent an email that she had a lot going on and if I wanted to learn more about her services that she had a link to her website that had more information. I never heard from her again. So now we are December. I emailed her once more to inform her that my wedding would be on December 12th at 2pm (this was the sixth time I had emailed her in this year). No response. I emailed her once more to let her know that I hoped to speak to her on the phone to answer some questions for her but she never emailed back and never called me. I guess we will never know what could have been. I do not have any hate or negative feelings towards her, she just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.
