I was totally set on having a wedding cake made by a local bakery, as I’m from the area and have been using this bakery for years. I’m also extremely particular about cakes and desserts. As a result, I was very surprised when I learned that the cake was going to be made by Angie’s. My first experience with Angie’s was when I hired her to make my wedding cake over 5 years ago. Back then, they were using a smaller cake and instead of a filling, I had her make a yummy buttercream.

I always assumed that they had expanded their business to include wedding cakes. But no, they still only make desserts. But they are the most delicious desserts I’ve ever had. The bakery is a small, privately owned company. And they are very particular about the quality of their ingredients. They are also very particular about the size of their cakes. They only do 10" and 12" cakes. And the yummy fillings are only for small, two or three bite cakes. Instead of doing a full size cake, they offer to make you a series of smaller cakes. So instead of one big cake, you get a set of 8 little cakes. Each little cake only costs $10, compared to $40-60 from the local bakery. And she offers to make any of the eight cakes any size you want. So for $60, we got a 10" two layer cake and a dozen cupcakes.

What I love about Angie’s is that we had SO MUCH FUN deciding what flavor cake and cupcakes we wanted. She had us over to her house for a taste testing and we had a great time chatting and tasting the yummy cupcakes she made for us. The best part is that she does not do tastings for cake fillings. So she provided us with a big bowl of her filling and we were welcome to bring some home. We ended up choosing two different types of cupcakes, with two different types of filling. Everyone at our wedding loved the cupcakes and they were a total hit. We have 100% of the left over cupcakes in our freezer to enjoy whenever we want.

We had such a fun experience with Angie, I assumed all wedding cake bakers were like this. But again, she only makes small cakes and delicious cupcakes, she is not a wedding cake baker. What she is, is a super tasty cupcake person. And for $10 per cupcake, I’ll take it!

I am not generally a sweets person,but I couldn’t get enough of the sugared fruits. They were so delicious and unique, I couldn’t stop asking my husband if there were any left after serving everyone. They turned out perfect, not too sweet, the perfect amount of sugar. We had a lot of requests that Angie’s was able to fulfill. We had a special request for a bride cake and after I described the design, Angie’s was able to make one. We also had a special request for a non-traditional cake topper. We had a tennis ball on top of a cupcake to represent our love of tennis (we both play) and a “J” on top of a cupcake to represent our love of James (my husband’s name). Angie’s was able to make the cake and after seeing the final product, I couldn’t have been happier. It was beautiful and delicious!!

I have a tradition of getting my birthday cakes from the same place since I was a little girl; Angie’s. I always knew I would get my wedding cake from Angie. I used to go to the store and try all of the flavors and fillings! I decided to make my husband wait until our wedding to try them! He had no idea what flavor he wanted and Angie helped us decide. She suggested that we do the white chocolate with raspberry as one layer and the spice as another layer. I was a little unsure because I did not see it on the list of flavors, but decided to trust her experience. It was the best decision! The cake was exactly what we wanted, simple and fresh! We are looking forward to our 1st anniversary so we can enjoy another year of delicious cake from Angie! Thank you for helping make our wedding perfect!

I am the mom of the bride. I can’t say enough good things about Angie and how we love her!! Our first meeting was wonderful and she was able to make the groom’s cake too! She truly has a passion for baking and her cakes are delicious! We met with a caterer that week who had great things to say about Angie as well. Angie worked with us on decorations and flavors until they were both to our liking. She was very prompt in getting back to us and always with a kind word and some sort of treat along the way, like her famous brownies or her amazing pumpkin cheesecake! She even sent us some treats after the wedding when we were able to contact her! We are now enjoying her famous brownies in our home! We are definitely looking forward to our big cake topper soon! We will use Angie for all our future bakery needs! She even made some for us to try when we were having our final meeting! We are huge fans of Angie and her cakes and we are so happy our wedding was able to have her as part of it’s dessert!
