Oh my goodness… I cannot say enough wonderful things about working with Shannon. From the very beginning she was so helpful and responsive. I had a couple of changes along the way and she was very flexible and accommodating. The cake tasting with her was so helpful and delicious! I had a wedding cake topper to fit my cake and she worked with me to find a vendor (Poe Pies) that made hand painted Poe poems on various flavors of pies. The day of the wedding the cake was so beautiful and matched our theme perfectly. The flavors of cake and butter cream are so yummy. We had different cupcakes and flavors and the taste is so fresh. This is not a cake that you eat and then forget about. The flavors stay with you all day. The cake is so moist and the frosting is not overly sweet or sugary. Shannon is very talented and a wonderful person. I would highly recommend her to anyone getting married. She is so easy to work with and very responsive. Her prices are reasonable and the cake is amazing. Also on top of everything she helped me surprise my now husband with a Louisville fan shirt made of fondant and the cake went with our theme perfectly.

I had found a drawing of a cake that I wanted for my wedding in August. I told everyone that I would get married in Vegas, but that I would be filming a documentary in my home town of Reading, about a girl who had gotten married in a church in her hometown of Hainesport, NJ (me). Everyone was so supportive and I was so touched. Well, when I found a bakery in Hainesport that did wedding cakes, I was so excited! I put the link to my beloved followers on my FB page (in case you’re wondering, it’s “The Reading Girl: A Documentary” - go look her up!!!). I ordered this beautiful cake last November. It was to be the cake topper on my special day. However, on March 17, 2013 (my wedding was scheduled for August), I was attacked by a crazed man on my daily commute to work. The man, who was a convicted felon, broke my jaw, cheek, and teeth. Two of my teeth got stuck in the wound from the punch. The man held me down in my car, beat me, and dragged me from my car. My train was due to arrive at 30 minutes after my scheduled departure time. My jaw was broken, I was bleeding from my face, and my teeth were bent. My shirt was covered in blood. I was transported to the hospital by my sister and brother-in-law, and I was in the emergency room for 5 hours. They had to set my teeth, put a plate and several screws in my head, and stitch me up. I also had to have 14 staples in my head. I had 18 staples in all. The cake topper cake was no longer in shape because the bakery didn’t have molds for it, they had to make it from a picture. The cake was $600. Anyway, after the crazed man was caught, he said that he did it because he didn’t want me to go to my wedding and be with “those faggots”. According to the news, he also said that I “was lucky to even have a nose.” He also stated that he “had 2 other fights that week and they both ended badly.” Needless to say, I’m not having my wedding in August. I’m just going to have to wait for my special day, but not entirely… I have a week long engagement party/vow renewal in my hometown in July. And maybe a small wedding cake when my fiancé and I visit Reading (it’s in the Poconos, there’s no way I’m visiting that awful city again) in August. And I’ll definitely use the link to my page on FB for birthday cakes!
