Our cake was included in the package for our wedding venue. We did not choose our own bakery. It said to go to Boulangerie. When we went there, it was very hard to choose what we wanted. They gave us tons of cake samples, which was a plus because we got to choose a different flavor for every layer. They showed us a book of past cakes that they had made. The book showed many different styles. We chose a cake from one of the pictures. The cake looked exactly like the picture. When we went to cut our cake, it tasted exactly like the sample we chose from their book. The cake was very good. The only problem we had was that we had asked if we could have two sparklers coming out of the cake. We said we wanted them to be on the sides. The cake arrived with one sparkler on top and the other one in the middle. There was no way to have both on the side. The cake arrived about an hour after the time they said it would be there. When the venue staff saw the cake, they were very upset. It was decorated and everything but it didn’t sparkle. We were very upset. If we would have known it would have been a problem, we would have chosen another bakery. But it was a very good tasting cake and it looked exactly like we wanted it to. The only problem was that it arrived with only one sparkler on top.

Wow, what can I say? All our guests loved the cupcakes this time! We had a hard time choosing flavors because they were all so good. We decided on chocolate cake with a peanut butter mousse filling for our two favorite flavors. The cake was moist and very flavorful. I was really pleased that they decorated the cake exactly as we had requested. We wanted a very specific, artsy design and they hit the mark. We will definitely be using them for our future cake and cupcake needs! We chose the option of either paying up front for a certain number of cupcakes or paying per cupcake. We ended up going with per cupcake because we wanted to have cupcakes for all our special occasions and this was the best deal. We were also really pleased that they were very easy to work with, communicated well, and were very helpful throughout the whole process!

Wow, what can I say…the folks at the BakeShop truly know how to bake and our wedding cake was spectacular! From the simple pleasure of trying different flavors of cake samples, to helping design our dream wedding cake, to the absolute beauty of the wedding cake itself; they totally exceeded our expectations. The cake was so moist and the filling so flavorful, delicious was an understatement. We also loved their story of how the BakeShop got its start. If you want a cake that truly tastes like nothing you’ve ever had before, go to The BakeShop! Oh, and if you’re worried about price, it’s not much more than what you’d pay for a regular cake from a place like Neumache (which is a whole other story), but with the specialty of the BakeShop; you get way more for way more!
